Crowdfunding some apps
As we've all been told over and over folksy can't afford to fund the making of apps for smartphones, so why don't we crowdfund (is that a word?) them instead. Most of us know just how important apps are for sellers and shoppers, so we should put our money where our mouth is and chip in part of the cost.
I'm not saying we should pay for it all but maybe if we could come up with part of the money Folksy could come up with the rest??
This really is something we need to get the folksy brand out there and recognised by everyone

We have been working on an App for Folksy sellers and it’s now ready to download and use!
We’ve focused on doing the core things well (ie creating and editing listings) but will be adding more features like variations and order notifications in future releases.

This app is just for selling on Folksy but we are planning to introduce and app for shoppers too.

Folksy can't not afford an app.. buyers will defer to quick and easy and mobile friendly no matter their brand loyalty.. I am a seller in 2 different crafts... I haven't listed either on folksy yet.. both are on etsy... So no app means fewer customers.. fewer sales..And a dying band of sellers hanging on just in case.. meanwhile back at the ranch everyone else is getting ahead..
In business the ONLY way you can't afford is a business model poorly planned... redo the model make it work

This is something that Folksy desperately need to look into as most people shop from their smartphones or tablets these days. I would definitely chip in via crowdfunding or kickstarter.

yes folksy really needs an app! It'll die off imo if it doesnt! I'd be more than happy to chip in via crowd funding to help it get one!

I've always wondered why Folksy didn't have an app like Etsy! Of course cost! It does sound like a good idea crowd funding though!
