Ability to change your username
I think being able to change your username would be a great help. I set up my account with Folksy a while ago, just as a buyer initially and now I've started selling items. My username is now not what I would like my shop to be called as I didn't have this intention in the first place. I think it would be beneficial to users be able to change this, even if Folksy put a limit on the number of times it can be changed or even being able to change the end of your web address to your shop name if changing the username is not at all possible!?
We’re pleased to announce that we are now able to change your username (and therefore your shop URL/address) for you. This is useful if you set up with a username that doesn’t match your shop name, or if you signed up with Facebook and were assigned a username that you are not happy with.
IMPORTANT
Please note that there is no redirect in place. This means that if we change your username/URL you would need to update any links etc. that you have posted anywhere ASAP because anyone visiting the old address will be directed to a broken page and will not be able to find you. Also if you have your URL on any printed materials, business cards for example, you will need to get those replaced as the old link to your shop will no longer work.
If you would like us to change your username and URL, please contact us through the Helpdesk or email us at support@folksy.com to let us know your current username and what username you would like to use instead, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Bear in mind this is a manual change by Folksy admin at the moment! If there is a huge demand for it, we may consider developing a way for you to change your username yourself in your shop dashboard.

Has there been any progress on this?

I too wish to change my shop name and would like the url to match. I know other selling platforms offer this service, just wish Folksy did too.

This would be a definite plus for me - especially as I have a Plus account so I would lose money if I opened a new shop and transferred all my stock. Pleeeeeease?

I'm in the same position too, I changed what I sell and wanted to rebrand, so I changed the shop name. However the URL address is still my previous one.
It's difficult to promote the shop or even get business cards printed when the shop front is one name but the web address is different !
Come on Folksy, help us out please.

I agree, I'm in the same position. I don't want to have to start all over again on Folksy just so my names match but I worry that it may put some customers off when they see something else in the web address.

Really need this as my username no longer matches my shop name. Am thinking of this opening a second account ( if that is possible) and gradually relisting each item in the new shop. Of course this would be a major pain and just being able to change the name would be better.

I agree with all the comments below - chose username a while ago before selling all items I currently sell - so now have website with different name from folksy shop.

Has there been any development on this? The initial question was asked a year ago, so i would love to see some changes.
I started out as a buyer too and am now selling items, but I would really like my shop name to be in line with the rest of my social media and internet presence. -

I would love this to be implemented as I set up my Folksy account before I had a shop, and now I am stucjk with an odd name (not my shop name). I also feel that having our user names visible could be a security risk as potential fraudsters have 1/2 the information they need to log in already - and most people's passwords are fairly generic.

I want my shop name as my web address url for business cards.
Right now it is my user name that is my web address url, so if being able to change my user name is how I achieve this then I fully support this suggestion.

I too would like to change my user name. I have decided I want to use a different name for my shop but it would be too confusing to have a name for my shop which does not reflect my user name, hence my shop address.

I , too would like to change my username as it is different from my existing shop name. I would like to set up another shop with items that I already sell elsewhere using this username as a "brand name".

I too would like to do this. If I started a new shop to have a different username, it would mean losing all my positive feedback. At the moment my username does not reflect my shop. I wondered why the the address for my shop has my username in it instead of the shop's name I've registered? That is, my shop is Astras Inspiration, but my shop address is folksy.com/shops/pandagirl. Surely it would make more sense for my shop name to be in the address?

I am in exactly the same predicament! I have also tried to set up a new account with what I would like as my shop name and can't do this either as my email address is already taken. I don't have another email address to use!!
