Ability to change your username
I think being able to change your username would be a great help. I set up my account with Folksy a while ago, just as a buyer initially and now I've started selling items. My username is now not what I would like my shop to be called as I didn't have this intention in the first place. I think it would be beneficial to users be able to change this, even if Folksy put a limit on the number of times it can be changed or even being able to change the end of your web address to your shop name if changing the username is not at all possible!?
We’re pleased to announce that we are now able to change your username (and therefore your shop URL/address) for you. This is useful if you set up with a username that doesn’t match your shop name, or if you signed up with Facebook and were assigned a username that you are not happy with.
IMPORTANT
Please note that there is no redirect in place. This means that if we change your username/URL you would need to update any links etc. that you have posted anywhere ASAP because anyone visiting the old address will be directed to a broken page and will not be able to find you. Also if you have your URL on any printed materials, business cards for example, you will need to get those replaced as the old link to your shop will no longer work.
If you would like us to change your username and URL, please contact us through the Helpdesk or email us at support@folksy.com to let us know your current username and what username you would like to use instead, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Bear in mind this is a manual change by Folksy admin at the moment! If there is a huge demand for it, we may consider developing a way for you to change your username yourself in your shop dashboard.

I need to change my username as it is confusing customers. I sell under a certain name, but i set up my shop as a buyer before not a seller. If i knew i could not change my username i would of not added my own products for sale!

I would LOVE to change my username. I understand what folksy means abt links, url etc. However, my username was created years ago and does not reflect what I do now. It would be seriously misleading to potential customers who think I still produce textiles, where in actual fact, I now paint. Please Folksy, consider allowing the chance to change usernames.

Please, please can we have the facility to change the username - even if it is a maximum of once. I am sure many shop owners are in the same position as me where I opened my shop but was not too happy with the name and 6 months later a brilliant shop name came to me which I now use and will not be changing! If I now open a new account with the new name I lose my great reviews and sold items. I originally opened my shop with Folksy as it was British based, but I am afraid I now use another selling platform as my 'main shop' in all my advertising, as it links in to all my social media. Folksy - I think you will be losing business if this is not changed, and I don't want this to happen as I think Folksy is great!

I vote for this - I too opened an account here two years ago but have since changed my brand name. I would very much like to use my shop name (of two years) to correspond with my account now.

I too did not realise that my username would be used as my URL, I would really like to be able to change it to match the name of my shop, so that it does not cause confusion when people visit my shop.

I am a buyer only and had to register in order to ask a seller a question. As a buyer I found the registration process maddening and ended up entering an angry (and sweary!) username. I am actually reluctant to sign in to buy things now because of my hopelessly inappropriate username! And I can't register a new account with my existing email address and so am stuck in a vortex of shame which is hampering my Folksy buying experience. Please allow buyers to change their usernames!

I just set up a shop and didn't realise my username would be the name in my folksy web address. I would like to be able to change it.

Any progress on this? I have opened a new shop but have lost all my sold items and 100% positive feedback.

To support, could a re-direction be put on?
I wouldn’t mind my URL being in my old name, as long as I could put my new name on business cards etc and when it’s typed into google it would bring up my shop,

I recently opened a second shop as I am making different kinds of items for it and did not want to mix the shop. I will not be making any more items for the first shop. What I would like is for my number of items sold and feedback to be transferred to new shop when the first shop is deleted as these details refer to the same seller and maker.

With so many of us revamping / rebranding this is a must have option. If other selling platforms can offer this service then why doesn't Folksy?
