The ability to explain why you have reported an item / shop

There are a number of reasons why an item or shop would be reported. It would be beneficial to implement an opportunity for the reporter to explain why they chose to report.

For example, when someone hits the report button you could have a chat box allowing a brief explanation for the report, or drop down list so you could check an option.

    Moderator could offer a handful of suggested reasons that one could select from and then confirm or cancel report. But also "other" with a max of 50 characters. Some people write essays where a few words will suffice (me included)

    An addition to the above idea: perhaps it should be possible to check and confirm/ cancel the Report, before it's sent.
    Stupid yours truly accidentally reported my own item yesterday - and there's no way of recalling that - duh!

    This is essential - reporting without giving a reason is useless. It gets my vote

    I think it should be a required thing, for someone to explain why they are reporting an item. It may not be obvious why you're reporting something anyway, so you should have the chance to explain - but it should be mandatory, so that the moderators know why you acted as you did.

    Yes we should be able to give a reason, because otherwise when we report, nothing happens. I think if the reason is not obvious, they do nothing, but if we could explain, more action could be taken,

    An excellent idea that's used on many forums to report posts so much easier for Admin to know why we think something might need to be reported to them. Also stops any malicious 'hitting of the report button as the reporter has to say whay they are reporting an item.

    This would be fantastic - maybe a simple drop-down list of choices e.g. not a UK seller, breach of copyright, foodstuffs, not vintage, spam, not handmade or original design and "other" with an option to add more information.
