Clicking the 'back' button & it taking you to the exact spot where you were previously browsing.
Unsure if this is a common problem but when I am browsing a category and click on an item to view, when I click the back button to carry on browsing it takes me back to the top of the page/category again.
It would be useful to be able to be taken back to the same place on the page that you were previously looking at, especially when you are quite far through the category.
We have replaced ‘view more’ (endless scroll) with pagination on category pages. This update should have resolved this issue.

Hi. I am a potential buyer, not a seller. Last year I looked for products but gave up due to this issue of not being able to search effectively. If I look at any products I have to return to the top of the page!? This year I returned for another try. I am completely amazed this issue hasn't been fixed. So I am sorry sellers, your products are great but this website doesn't support your great work or potential buyers.

The back function and page numbers is definitely a big issue. Even after updating listings when you hit back you are taken back to the first page of listings not the page the listing you are editing is on (unless it is on the first page !)- v. annoying. Would prefer you fix the back function or at least put the listings page numbers at the top of the page aswell as bottom so it is quicker to go to the page you want without having to scroll to bottom every time to get to them. It also seems from comments made here that it puts buyers off aswell. Any plans to improve this ?

I have addressed this problem today with Folksy. As a buyer I got fed up after viewing three items because of having to scroll again and again to get back to the original page I was viewing. No page numbers for going swiftly back to the last age you were on. I was considering returning to Folksy again as a seller, but see this as a major selling issue. If your item is not within the first few pages, you have little hope of anyone seeing it unless customers are directed to your shop by other means. And under review as far back as May 2012 ?

I agree with Hannah - I was well through the items but was sent back to the top of the page again, having looked at one item. If the pages were numbered it would be a great help to find one's place again!

I've never come across a website where clicking the back button doesn't take you back to the last item you looked at. I've only just started looking at Folksy but the lack of this function is driving me mad. PLEASE get it fixed. If everyone else can have it working on their sites it can't be that difficult to rectify.
I echo Lucy's comments of Dec 2012. If you're afraid to click on an item of interest for fear of losing your place on the page, what's the point. People on here are paying to try to sell their items after all. -

I agree with the vast majority of voices here. I try not to click on items because I know I will get hoiked back up to the top of however many pages I've scrolled through. I really don't like the 'show more items' function - I like to know how far in I am with my search. On Ebay, Etsy and so on I very often remember which page number something I like is on and then click back to that. I have to say I basically almost NEVER look at Folksy for buying and it is because the search function is so un-user friendly.

I'm new to this wonderful site and shopping for Christmas gifts.. I love the beautiful unique items on sale, but find the endless scrolling really off-putting. It would make shopping so much easier if I wasn't taken back to the top of the page each time I press the 'back' button..

Hey Folksy why is this still a problem to us? Can you not be bothered to fix this rather large problem for both your Sellers and their potential Customers?
Or, don't you care? -

I get fed up with scrolling down endlessly and end up abandoning my mission. It would be nice if you didn't have to click on the 'show more items' button continuously, and if you click on an item didn't then have to go back to the first page of results.

I am new to Folksy and I found this problem yesterday. Very frustrating and I think frustrating enough to put customers off and send them elsewhere.

I was looking at setting up a sellers account on here but on browsing not being able to go back to where I was after going into the further details on one item is driving me crazy. I dont really want to use ebay to sell one off pieces but I'm struggling to find a altenative. Its just making this site SO clunky to use.

PLEASE FOLKSY! Can you please please put page numbers on the categories? While it's a great improvement to have the bigger pictures so being able to see more details, (thank you) we still need to not go back to the beginning every time we click or choose something to buy. Personally, I have to admit I am sick of this problem and want to move on, p.l.e.a.s.e!...... p.l.e.a.s.e......Folksy Give us PAGE NUMBERS!

personally without the back button problem being resolved i really don't see much improvement to the search facility, it discourages me from actually viewing items properly and exploring what other items a seller have if i know i'm going to be dragged back to the start of the section when i go back. whilst i know if i search for a specific item its not such an issue but sometimes i just want to browse the jewellery or clothing sections at which point the nightmare begins!!!

Hi,
I'm not sure if I'm missing something with the improvements. Does it just make the thumbnail images bigger and provide more choice before clicking 'more'?
I'm trying to be really patient with this, but I just think it's a really important feature that needs to be addressed and if Folksy really can't implement it perhaps we could know why? I browse Folksy every day (mostly 'recently listed') and I'm trying to be really objective, but there are just no two ways about it: after scrolling through and clicking 'more' a couple of times, I find myself reluctant to click on an item unless I REALLY like the look of it as I can't bear to go back to the start after! It pains me to think how many customers we are all missing because people end up not going that 'deep' into searching categories.
I've never given much time to Etsy but it's an obvious comparison so I had a browse on there the other day. They don't seem to have a recently listed section so we're one-up there as I love that feature on Folksy. BUT, when I scanned pages and pages of listings, and clicked on the odd item that caught my eye, I went right back to where I left the results afterwards. I'm a big fan of Folksy and I've been trying to be really upbeat recently, but this is one fault that disappoints me every day :(

Hi again Folksy,
I tried out the "improved search results" on the cards on the (blank category) clicked on one of the cards for a better view then clicked on the back button and hey back to the beginning again, this is over 3,000 cards, No one is going to bother to go back to where they were, Can anyone remember what the cards on the last page look like? I don't because I hadn't discovered the Folksy web sight, So what happens to these cards they are still being paid for but with hardly (if any) views? Granted, there are smaller categories to advertise your crafts in but these are specific. Blank is the best because it can fit All occasions. But it is too long!
Perhaps a solution to this problem is smaller categories? Or Blank 1 Blank 2 Blank 3 and Birthday 1 Birthday 2 Birthday 3 etc. I don't know very much about the technical side of these Web sights and I don't know how hard it is to keep them running smoothly, but I do know that as a potential customer I don't want to lose my place when I click on an item for a more detailed look when I'm searching for that all important gift or card, I want to go back to where I was so I can continue with my search. I'm sorry Folksy but I still see this as a badly needed problem to be Fixed. Thank you Helen -

Hi Tech Support! The improvements you've made definitely help. It's great to be able to see an overview of more products now by simply scrolling down as opposed to having to constantly click the 'show more items' button (especially if internet is slow and you have to wait for it to load each time). Obviously the ideal solution would be that when you click the back button it takes you back to exactly where you were on the page before you clicked into an item to get a closer look, however for the time being this is absolutely an improvement, so thank you :o) xx

I really like Folksy as opposed to the plethora of other UK based online selling platforms springing up left right and centre because I feel like Folksy is a friendly, honest and fair place compared with the others which come across as plain pushy and charge exorbitant fees to be in their club. Folksy, by comparison has no joining fee and low commission, even with the recent increase. The new interface here looks really good, it is not cluttered with moving flashing adverts and ridiculous marketing tag lines which are 'supposed' to entice a potential buyer. Folksy is more understated and therefore cooler. The trade off is that Folksy is a bit slow, but it's getting there and I'm happy to accompany it on its journey. However there are definitely a few things that need attention sooner than later because it is true, Etsy is much quicker and easier to use. The back-click function being discussed on this thread is right up there with most annoying things. Also I would like to see the option to rearrange the order of items in a shop. I think the photo upload could work more smoothly: if for whatever reason there is a glitch then all photos need to be uploaded again which is very time wasting. Also I'd like to see a shipping profiles function so I don't have to manually type costs in each time. And I don't know if this is going to appear in the new dashboard but the ability to bulk sort shipping profiles would be a Godsend because with the rise in Royal Mail prices I am not looking forward to adjusting the shipping for over a hundred items one by one. But on the flip side I appreciate all the hard work that is going into improving Folksy, it really has come a long way so thanks for having me here! Leanne xx

Whats strange is that it never used to be like this .Its only since a supposed improvement .If you get really fed up you can look at etsy instead, but only for browsing as buying from USA costs too much in postage.

I am really surprised that Folksy doesn't fix this very important search facility problem - why not?
It is really annoying & offputting....
There are other online market websites that don't have this problem of either / or (see Admin below)
What is the real reason why it hasn't been remedied please???
Is it too expensive to fix?
