Improved product search
The ability to search within product categories and to introduce sub cats for each main product category. At present cannot find anything unless the seller has happened to use the keywords that I type into the search bar. For example I want to find soft toy crocodiles - at present I go through Dolls & Bears but once I'm there I cannot add crocodiles into a search box without it searching the entire site.

We’ve improved search: http://blog.folksy.com/2014/03/28/finding-and-sharing
This will be an ongoing process, but the search results are now paginated, various improvements have been made to the search algorithm to return more relevant results, and you can refine search by section/category/sub-category and by price.

Recently I joined premier plus account and started on refurbishing my shop, after listing few items.I tried searching my listings they are not at all available.
Without tags how can a customer search and buy desired items.
Am I missing anything important while listing?
Please help.... -

Yes, I did the same for cufflinks - want to spend between £15 and £30 - why can't I limit the search to ones in this price range!? Or sort by price even?

definitely in agreeance, in addition, as has already been commented on, the option to search perhaps by prices would be beneficial also.

Thanks for this suggestion.
Yes, search is basic at the moment and we will be making improvements in the coming weeks and months. -

I absolutely agree.Folksy really lets it's sellers down in this respect. I have found gorgeous items but only through the often frustrating use of the very convoluted searching system on this site. It takes determination, dedication and patience to find what you are looking for and they must be loosing customers who just give up and /or miss items . I love the site ...and think it deserves better!

I have stopped selling on Folksy until a decent search function is introduced. It is ridiculous not to have search filters on a site full of unique pieces. The current search function is a huge backward step for Folksy and I know lots of changes are planned, but getting the basics right first should be the priority. I can't help but believe the goodwill element of Folksy's business value is being lost at the moment and hope the site doesn't fail.

I've voted to cover both the main suggestion and the one by Gemma in the comments. Another example is clothing - I can look at blouses under women's clothing but there is no way to filter by size. Having an extra layer to the search would stop the disappointment of finding a stunning product but it isn't in your size.

Also would be useful to be able to sort the search results by price, alphabetically etc. Faced with over 1000 items on a recent search, I only looked at a couple of pages before giving up!
