More Tag options
The current tags options for sellers fall into 2 categories - 1.Materials and 2.Colour. These options are very limiting and irrelevant for many sellers. Wouldn't it be better to have one Tag listing where sellers could list say 25 tags specific to their item. Then sellers could list exactly what they wanted and free up their title bars from keyword stuffing. Sellers would be happy as they will be able to target buyers and buyers would be happy as they would be able to find what they want. Makes sense as Folksy's aim is to bring buyers and sellers together in an efficient, easy to use way?

Why the general tag system was abolished in favour of just colour / material is beyond me ! Good to see it's return , even if it will take a while to re-establish . Anything that aids a 'search ' , is a good thing . A step in the right direction . Thanks Folksy

Yes I agree - etsy has loads of possible tags for work I feel it helps people who like specific things. Which would lead to sales - which we like.

Hi Guys
I just noticed this problem too. I searched my items and realised that none of my listings come up even when i search part of the title!
I have now used the 'colours' tags for normal tags and lo and behold i search again and the listings show up!
Might be worth doing this instead : )
It's annoying but at least your items will show up when people search for them -

It's absolutely ridiculous that there is no tagging system. When I first joined folksy there were tags and items would show on folksy and google search.
I'm waiting for the last of my items to expire since I don't get any views anymore. It's a waste of money listing anything until this is sorted out, which they don't seem to think is of any importance to sellers. I opened an Etsy shop get lots of views and had sales. -

Just joined, listed my first items and I'm amazed there's no tagging! Much as having to think about tags (on other sites) does my head in, surely it's essential...

Tags would be brilliant. I'm surprised it's not something we already have. Trying to force all the possible search terms people might use into the description just ends up making the description sound awful.

I agree - tags are very useful for anyone finding items. In another online marketplace tags are very successful. It also gives us an idea on what kind of tags people are using to search.

Having run a successful online shop at Another Online Marketplace, for several years, I am also rather stunned to find that Folksy has no tags. The search system seems to be quite primitive and not very successful. There are at least 3 ways to look for items and each method functions differently to the others - only one way allows you to select how you view the results.
Even if I have listed an item that day, it doesn't always come up in some of the searches.
Keywords and/or Tags for search criteria would be more than useful!
Just now I am not confident that my money is being well spent here... I am not sure that customers are finding my items. The only sale I have made so far, was to a customer who found me via a link from a social networking site, where I had posted about my new Folksy shop. Not sure if I want to stay, though I will give it a good, fair trial.
There are so many "missing" things and inconsistencies. -

I REALLY miss tags.

I agree - along with the ability to list items in more than one category. When you list something in the "All" section, for example, it would be nice to also be able to be more specific within it, as "All" is probably the first obvious choice...once into "All" I'd like to specify, say, "Seed Beads" Anything listed under the subsection is easily missed by someone who's not so savvy about the terminology of items within that category and just goes for the general.

I have had a dormant Folksy shop for some time but I'm hoping to get my shop up and running for Christmas. I'm stunned to discover that there is no way to tag items! How will anyone find them?
Would be very useful to have some tagging options. -

Yes bring back the Tags, it is an aid to buyer and to sellers!! We are all suffering from lack of sales anything to assist in items being seen has got to help us and you Folksy, Since the new design, I have not really sold anything, can't see if anyones is looking at my page. etc. I have just upgraded to Folksy Plus which cost £30 this does not seem to have helped in any way no sale at all. I am thinking of coming off Folksy which is a shame but we all need help in getting out items seen out there. Please go back to the old design or improve it, I think sellers will start top seriously think of going elsewhere.

Agreed, extra tags would also help buyers narrow their search results

I feel quite lost since losing tags. They seem *SO* important for searches.
