Another feature Folksy could consider is a “Maker Studio Tour” section that allows artisans to showcase their workshops, creative spaces, and behind-the-scenes processes through photos, videos, and interactive stories.

Many customers are increasingly interested in learning how handmade products are created and who makes them. Giving sellers a platform to share their workspaces, crafting techniques, and personal journeys would help build trust and create stronger connections between buyers and makers.

This type of storytelling can also encourage repeat purchases by making the shopping experience more personal and engaging. Similar content-driven platforms, including https://dubaidailypress.com/, demonstrate how behind-the-scenes features and human-interest…

  2. Interactive Local Travel & Shopping Guides for Handmade Product Lovers

Many shoppers are interested in discovering local markets, artisan fairs, craft festivals, and unique shopping destinations alongside buying handmade products online. It would be great if Folksy offered an interactive guide section where sellers and buyers could share recommendations for local craft events, independent shops, and creative communities.

This feature could help strengthen connections between makers and customers while supporting local businesses. Similar community-focused travel and discovery content has become increasingly popular among users looking for authentic experiences. For example, travel platforms such as https://dubaibrief.com highlight how local recommendations and hidden gems can drive engagement and encourage community participation.

  3. AI-Powered SEO & Product Description Assistant for Sellers

One feature that could really improve Folksy is an AI-powered product description and SEO helper for sellers. Many small creators struggle with writing optimized titles, tags, and descriptions that attract buyers through search engines.

A built-in tool that suggests keywords, improves product descriptions, and generates SEO-friendly tags could help handmade sellers get more visibility and sales while saving time.

I recently explored some useful SEO and online service content ideas here as well: https://parivahansewaain.com/

This kind of smart optimization feature could make Folksy even more creator-friendly and competitive.

  4. Smart Seller Utility & Customer Resource Hub

A feature that could really help Folksy users is a built-in “Seller Utility & Customer Info” section where shop owners can share useful guides, digital tips, and region-specific resources with buyers.

For example, many UAE-based users often search for telecom-related information like SIM ownership, mobile number checks, and account verification before making online purchases or coordinating deliveries. Adding a small community knowledge section or resource-sharing feature could improve trust and communication between buyers and sellers.

A useful reference I found on this topic is: https://dubaiarchives.com/du-number-check/

This could make Folksy more community-focused and helpful beyond just buying and selling.

  6. Allow absolute pricing or negative price deltas for variants.

If you are selling multiple sizes of an item, the headline pricing on a listing can be misleading for the customer as it is for the cheapest variant and then you need to add cost for the larger ones.

It would be useful to be able to set the headline price for the size you are mainly aiming to sell, and then have the variants at a lower cost.

  7. Fees for Multiple Listings That Are The Same

On Etsy, "if you list multiple quantities of the same item, the initial listing fee will be $ 0.20 USD, and the listing will be automatically renewed at $ 0.20 after each item sells." This would seem to be a fairer system. I am reluctant to list multiple items on Folksy owing to the extra fees. This might prove prohibitive to a buyer who wishes to purchase multiple items that are the same.

  8. More Social Link Options

As a trans person, I do not use anything owned by Meta or Twitter; those places are extremely unsafe for me. I have a BlueSky account and a Mastodon account. Requiring that we give specific social links, rather than letting us add our own, is very limiting: I don't have accounts on any of the services you include options for, and you don't include options for the services I do use. I assume it's so you can add the specific service's logo, but I'd rather no logo and the ability to actually include my socials.

  9. Add Isle of Wight to your list of counties (we are not part of Hampshire)

The Isle of Wight is not listed as a county under your South-East England list, this means my shop is not showing in this search feature. I am sure there are other Isle of Wight shops that must have the same problem.

  10. Bluesky Sharing Button Please

Is there any way we could have a button to share listings to Bluesky please? I know Facebook isn't an option, but now twitter is dead, Bluesky seems to be where all the creatives are gathering. It would be really helpful to be able to share there.

  11. Marking items as sold (where it has sold outside of Folksy) so that it is still visible to customers viewing my shop.

I sell many of my original works of art at fairs and exhibitions and would like customers to be able to see an item they have seen in person has now sold. This is particularly important for original works of art, where there is only 1 item ever available. If I change the stock amount to zero the listing is hidden. It would be great if my store could show the listing of the item that has sold as a means to showcase my original works of art rather than my store just showcasing the art prints and cards that…

  12. Hallmarking Notice

Could we have somewhere on our shop fronts to display dealers notice's from assay offices? Some of the pieces I have will be above the hallmarking exemption and it would be better than having to include as a photo on listings

  13. Please change the Search screen format to be more pleasing

    https://talk.folksy.com/t/search-result-images/27689
I have only just realised why when I go to the Search screen it looks so unpleasing and it is because it is a totally different format from the rest of the site. I love the look of the Folksy front page (nearly all square images and a neat 4 to a line. Same as our shop pages. I find these visually pleasing.

The Search screen is one of the first things a new visitor to the site is likely to see. Why then does it have this weird format of rectangular, cropped pictures, 3 to a line and…

  14. Replace top sellers with last sold items

The top sellers are always the same as slanted towards value rather than actual number of sale.ps. This is unfair for those of us selling cheaper items as never stand a chance. Plus customers may think other shops are not worth looking at.

To be fairer to all could top sellers be scrapped after all it is always the same shops and latest items sold put in instead. Updates when an item is sold. This would then be changing all the time and be far more interesting.

  15. Random display of new listings etc

Need to mix up new listings and those in gift guides so customers don’t see pages of the the same shop. It looks awful and I would give up.

  16. Please will Folksy concentrate on their core business. Selling

Folksy seem to be losing their way. We sellers are here to showcase and sell our beautiful work. Folksy is supposed to be a selling platform and up to the last few days was just that but appears to be directing its attention to diversifying into an online arts and craft exhibition.
Please listen to your sellers who are struggling after the recent changes you made which has added a most unwelcome cloak of invisibilty to us. I've been here 14 years and as far as I can see no more people outside Folksy have heard of Folksy than had…

  17. Shop signing in.

I'm finding it a little annoying to have to keep signing into my shop. 4 times today I had to sign in, sometimes it doesn't sign me out for a couple of days sometimes it lets me stay signed in for longer. I would like to be signed into my shop for as long as I like, until I decide that I want to sign out. Is there a way to do this?

  18. New listings automatically go to top of first shop page

When you list a new item it goes automatically to the top of your front page instead of at the bottom of the last page. The shopkeeping page is a nightmare to move stuff around. It's slow and getting slower and hard to move items.

  20. Re-arranging Products

Could we please have the ability to edit our live shops, so that we can easily re-arrange products by dragging & dropping them into place please & from page to page?

I know there's limited capability in Shopkeeping but this is far too time consuming & doesn't allow us to arrange items depending on upcoming celebrations or seasons.
