Have an easy way to embed your Folksy shop in another website
I'm not sure if this option exists. I've seen on Etsy that they do a mini-widget thing that will display a few of your listed items on your blog/website. I will soon be creating a website for a new venture selling craft items, which i would also like to list on Folksy to increase product views. What would be really good would be to simply list everything on Folksy once, and for this information to automatically be updated on my website. And for it to look like a proper shop rather than just a little widget like the Etsy option.…
86 votesWe have created a widget for use on websites/blogs. You will find a ‘widgets’ link on the left hand side of your dashboard. You can select from a number of different sizes and it works with most blogs except wordpress.com, where iframes are specifically disallowed. Could we please have a polymer clay category under the jewellery category
At the moment I am listing my polymer clay brooches under the jewellery category and then brooches.
Please could we have a polymer clay category as at the moment my items are going into the everything else category.
That can't be good, surely.2 votes -
Using Characters "!/? etc in 'Message to seller'
Several of my customers have contacted me saying they can not complete their purchases and the common problem is using "?!-/ i.e non-standard characters.
Is there a way you can allow these characters? Or even add a note explaining they can not use them?
1 voteThe messaging form now allows all characters!

Add a picture to meet the maker
Could we have the ability to add an image to our meet the maker page - perhaps a picture of our workrooms, us creating our products, craft fair display of products etc - think it would really add something to those pages.

The ability to explain why you have reported an item / shop
There are a number of reasons why an item or shop would be reported. It would be beneficial to implement an opportunity for the reporter to explain why they chose to report.
For example, when someone hits the report button you could have a chat box allowing a brief explanation for the report, or drop down list so you could check an option.

Folksy Shop App for Facebook Page & smartphones?
Hi there, I was wondering if we were any closer to having a Folksy Tab on our Facebook Pages?
I was gutted when that disappeared? And have you got a APP for Iphones in the offing too?
Yours Chloe @ Hatastic!371 votesTo integrate your Facebook page and your Folksy shop, you can use our ‘data feed page’ option to create a catalogue for your Folksy shop on Facebook.
Just add .rss to your whole shop URL (eg https://folksy.com/shops/claregetscrafty.rss) and then follow the instructions here https://www.facebook.com/business/help/384041892421495?id=725943027795860
That should enable you to create a catalogue from your Folksy shop that updates automatically when you add a new listing or something sells out.
You can also use our new Sell on Folksy app to create and edit listings on your phone or tablet. More details here – https://blog.folksy.com/2021/03/18/folksy-sellers-app

Immediate payment required
I have problems where customers make a purchase but then don't make payment for it (despite contact from me).
Would it be possible that a buyer has to make payment before the sale is made? I am unsure why this is a 2 stage process on Folksy. I am thinking along the lines of eBay's 'immediate payment required' functionality.

Can you create a new listing based on an existing listing?
Unless I've missed something is it possible to create a new listing based on an existing listing? This would save so much time and effort.

Displaying shop names correctly on listings under thumbnails
When I view my shop, or anyone's shop for that matter, why are the case of the words in shop names not displayed properly?
My shop is 'Tom Bland Photography', but for some bizarre reason it is displayed as 'Tom bland photography' under each thumbnail in my shop.
Please can this be fixed? It just doesn't look very good.

Tidy of items within categories
There are currently many items in the wrong category - for example, take a look at men's clothing and accessories. I can see hand cream, soap, a coin tray and random electronics. This is just from the first two pages alone.
Key rings are border line, if I want a men's keyring I wouldn't think of going to the clothing and accessories section...

Spam Reporting
I have been experiencing a problem with spam messages. It would be good to have a way to report spam like one does in with emails, so Folksy could do something about it (deactivating accounts if found to be spam). At moment I can't do anything except ignore them. The messages always enquire about the items availability, excepting paypal, final asking price and requesting that I respond to a private email address.
10 votesIf you receive any spam emails via Folksy, please forward the email to support@folksy.co.uk so that we can investigate.

Feedback left v Feedback %
Currently feedback is shown as the amount of feedback and a percentage. When the amount of feedback doesn't match the amount of sales, it does rather suggest that people weren't happy but declined to leave negative or neutral feedback.
So I suggest that the box should show Items Sold and feedback % only. Eg:
Items sold: 100
Feedback: 100% positive
Though still make it clickable so people can go and see what feedback has been left.121 votes -

Messages
When replying to a message you should be able to see the original message, and also it would be useful if the subject was carried over instead of having to type this in each time.

Fees
The new fees system is really squeezing any ability to make money! Also it discourages multiple listings as it costs the same as a new listing. It's therefore better to list 1 item and make sure it sells before adding additional items. Coupled with the increased commission and the reduction in selling period, it is getting expensive to sell through Folksy.

More Tag options
The current tags options for sellers fall into 2 categories - 1.Materials and 2.Colour. These options are very limiting and irrelevant for many sellers. Wouldn't it be better to have one Tag listing where sellers could list say 25 tags specific to their item. Then sellers could list exactly what they wanted and free up their title bars from keyword stuffing. Sellers would be happy as they will be able to target buyers and buyers would be happy as they would be able to find what they want. Makes sense as Folksy's aim is to bring buyers and sellers together…
