  1. Gift vouchers

I would love to be able to give and receive Folksy gift vouchers. I hope that is something that you can consider in the future.

  2. Gift box/ gift wrapping

Gift box / gift wrapping tick box at checkout. With seller access to set their own cost for this option when someone clicks as option.

  3. Option for Gift Receipt

I'd like the option to be able to print a gift receipt. A customer asked me to send their purchase direct to their friend as a gift, and wanted me to include a gift receipt without the price.
This isn't possible at present and it seems to me to be something that we should be able to do. It is common practice elsewhere and a lot of people buy things as gifts.

  4. A sub category in the jewellery section for gift sets/ jewellery sets

I have made a number of matching gift sets containing more than one item i.e. earrings and a pendant. Sometimes a bracelet too.

As it currently stands when I add them to Folksy I list them under pendant/necklaces and then add my own shop collection, but if a customer is browsing Folksy home page (rather than navigating an individual shop) would it be a fair option to have a ‘gift set’ option in the jewellery menu?

Apologies if this has been asked before. The first time I posted the suggestion I accidentally hit the back button.

  5. Select a Gift List to browse

At the moment the homepage includes links to a gift list or two- which look randomly selected? I would like to be able to chose a list to look at- why not have a drop down menu at the top, like there is for jewellery, art etc?

  6. It would be useful if we could create a free postage code, rather than a discount code. That way we could introduce new buyers to our shops

It would be useful if we could create a free postage code, rather than a discount code. Or even just a code that we could set the value of - a little bit like a gift voucher redeemed on Purchases.
That way we could introduce new buyers to our shops with a free postage offer - or it could be given or used for people in our local area.

  7. An improved description for the Scotland gift guide

Suggest making it more arts and crafts focused - current description is quite stereotypical and patronising and misses the opportunity to highlight a strong craft tradition.

  8. Get rid of percentages linked to stars

It is so disappointing to see your percentage drop due to a four star review.
I have experienced this and seen it happen on other shops. The customer is very pleased with the item but takes off a star, because for instance, it is a gift and hasn’t tried it.
This is upsetting as you can never recover to 100% through no fault of your own. It doesn’t look good to a potential customer either if the percentage rating has dropped.
Let’s just have a star average instead.

  9. Random display of new listings etc

Need to mix up new listings and those in gift guides so customers don’t see pages of the the same shop. It looks awful and I would give up.

  10. A channel to reply to enquiries through Folksy rather than through own email. I had an enquiry from a buyer through Folksy las week w

I had an enquiry from a buyer through Folksy las week wanting to know if I could supply an item that she thought was the perfect item in time for an anniversary gift. I replied immediately. And was surprised that someone so keen did not come back so I emailed another 2 times .....apologising in case she had changed her mind and wondering if my reply had arrived.
She replied yesterday saying that she had only just seen my reply in her spam folder........she thought I had not replied and had bought elsewhere.

  11. Please can the Front Page "unsigned" revert to the same interesting display as the "signed in" version

In the forum at the moment there is a thread about sales picking up http://talk.folksy.com/t/are-your-sales-picking-up/3275.

There have been strong suggestions that some shops have seen a decline in views since the Front page was split (in September ?) between the signed in (Good) and Unsigned in (Boring) versions.

I added this comment to the forum post after reading yet another remark about the front screen.

"I do agree though that the unsigned in Front Page does absolutely nothing to entice potential customers who have come in to Folksy via that route to linger or even explore further.

    There has…

While we do still have a signed in and signed out front page (usertesting suggested that new/guest buyers needed slightly different signposting on the front page), the two views are now more in line with each other and hopefully the signed out page is more interesting without being too confusing. We’re continuing to test this and will review/make changes accordingly.

  12. Wedding Gifts

I mainly supply personalised gifts, mainly to the wedding market. Im so surprised you do not have a wedding gifts category. You have a thank you gifts for bridesmaids etc. Is there any chance of adding a new category of wedding gifts or even personalised gifts or both. Thank you Fiddlestick Crafts

  13. Can we remove the price from sold items?

I know this has been asked before and was declined with the suggestion that we edit the listing to remove the price or change the price. One little problem, I don't seem to have the ability to edit the listing once it has been sold. I make one of a kind items mostly and over the years my pricing structure has changed so that I now make a profit. If I remake something that I made 3 years ago and sold for £35 but using different yarn and with my new pricing structure I decide to price at £80, customers…

  14. New category under office for pens/ biros/ball points

Could be have a category for pens under office? The pens used for artwork are not the same and people looking for a pen to buy as a gift are more likely to look under office. Artists will look for special pens used to create art under art.

  15. Easy way to see Favourites

Is there an easier way to see items/shops you have Favourited? Currently you have to go to Dashboard>Account, then choose to see either Favourite Items or Sellers.
If there was a clear Favourites button/link on the home page showing ALL Favourited things, it would make browsing and shopping easier, quicker and more enjoyable.

I actually find it easier to pin items on Pinterest (on a secret Gifts board) to see favourites at a glance, rather than use the current way...

P.S. Forgive me if I'm being dumb, it's just my first impression!

We’ve improved favourites! You will now see a link at the top of the page that takes you to your Favourites page. From here you can see Favourite items, shops, and new items from your favourite sellers. We’ve improved favouriting itself, too – you can now favourite an item when you hover over the image in the gallery view (e.g. on the front page, in searches, etc). We are planning to introduce more improvements to favourites/activity later in the year.

  16. Please can we make prices of sold items invisible?

Please could it be possible to hide the prices paid for items once they are viewed in the 'sold items' section? This has been an issue when things are bought as gifts, and also when I need to put the prices up (or down)!

With the new system of re-stocking listings and permanent URL’s for items it’s possible for you to have a item appearing on the sold screen and, because you’ve re-stocked the listing, appearing in your shop. If you want to change the price of an old listing that you aren’t using any more you could edit that listing to reflect a different price.
